  • My latest update is a kit that those with a passion for garage kits simply refer to as a “grail kit”  ... a kit that you would expend all energy to acquire. Different collectors / painters / kit-builders have their own grails, for me, Nightmare sculpted by the unequaled hands of Takayuki Takeya and based on the phenomenal artwork of Yoshitaka Amano, was very near the top of my grail list. I added the kit to my collection nearly five years ago and finally felt ready to try to put paint to it. My goal was to emulate as closely as possible the beautiful paintings of Amano and do some justice to the unbelievable detail captured by Takeya. Nightmare is a rendering of Vampire Hunter D, a half-vampire created by Amano and beautifully captured in many acrylic paintings with a wonderful watercolor style. I spent a great deal of time with Coffin: The Art of Vampire Hunter D in an attempt to understand Amano’s work and try to create a composite representation of D that would translate from 2D to 3D. The result is by far my personal favorite of anything I’ve painted thus far ... I hope that you enjoy the result.

  • On Friday night at 9:00 pm ... with maybe 5 hours of painting time (because I needed to sleep as well) before my next D&D game, I decided I needed a cool demon. I had The Fallen One from Heresy primed and ready to go. Here’s what I came up with ... The Fallen One

  • How about that? Another update and only a couple of weeks since the last one. Another resin kit, and another female ... The Axe, a futuristic valkyrie standing atop a robotic adversary that she has defeated. I tried to give her armor a futuristic “power armor” feel to it and additionally made her foe, K-47 look a little rusty and old. How else could Miss Nude Universe defeat such a large and nasty foe? The Axe of course!! :) I hope you enjoy her.

  • Finally, after 3 long years, my site is alive with some new stuff. I’ve started to paint again and started things off with a new resin kit. She is AIKA ... a cyborg creation that has gone slightly wrong. My take on this kit was that after AIKA was created, the lab fell into ruin and AIKA has remained attached to her life support system, slowly rusting and waiting for her creators to return.

Hopefully, my next update will not wait 3 years.
